Annual Education Bursaries

Deadline for  submission of applications is August 15, 2025

Waste Water Nova Scotia Society is sponsoring three annual awards to support students who are enrolled in a full time post-secondary education program.

Bursaries are available to paid 2024 members of WWNS and their immediate families. Participants may only receive an award once during their studies. Preference will be given to students studying in programs that will help build the waste water industry of tomorrow. 

The annual bursaries are:
University Award – A $2,500 award available to students entering any year of a full time university environmental, chemical or civil engineering program. 
College Award – A $2,500 award available to students entering any year of a full time environmental or civil engineering technologist program, or in a heavy equipment technology program. 
Trades Award – A $2,500 award available to students entering any year of a full time trades program related to the on-site industry.

Application Requirements
To qualify, please complete the application below. Before you begin the application, please have the following mandatory documents available in pdf format to submit with the application: 

  1. Statement of program of study (demonstrating enrollment)
  2. Transcript of related program grades (can be an unofficial transcript)
  3. Letter of Interest; max one page. Tell us about you! This is your opportunity to introduce 
    yourself and will help us get to know the person behind the application form.
    • Tell us about yourself, why you want to pursue your program of study, what are your career goals, how the scholarship will help you, and how have you contributed to your community.

Selection Process
A selection committee will review applications and make their decisions based on goals, accomplishments, support, and community involvement.
